Fall Book Sale October 8 & 9, 2022

The Pillsbury Free Library’s Fall Book and Bake Sale will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9, from 9 am to 4 pm during Fall Foliage Festival, rain or shine. Books and DVDs for all ages, baked goodies, and a free do it yourself leaf craft for children will be available. The library will not be open for regular business Friday Oct 7 – Monday Oct 10, and will reopen Tuesday Oct. 11 at 9 am.

Donations of clean, boxed books and DVDs will be accepted between October 1 and 6 during open hours. PLEASE use SMALL boxes that can be used for display. Book sale Volunteers needed: call 603-456-2289 or sign up at signup.com/go/RwzdbEJ

Home Energy Savings Workshop

NH Saves Button Up Workshop Sept. 21, 2022 at 6:30 pm in person or via Zoom at Pillsbury Free Library 18 E. Main Street in Warner (access via Depot Street)

The NHSaves Button Up Workshop is a 1.5 hour presentation about how to improve the energy efficiency of your home. It is conducted by certified energy auditor Andy Duncan and covers basic building science principles as well as examples of whole house weatherization measures that will button up your home for the heating and cooling seasons.

It also covers details about the energy efficiency programs offered by NH utilities (for existing homes and new construction) that provide energy audits, weatherization measures such as air sealing and insulating and rebates on new technologies and products such as electric and gas appliances and high efficiency electric heating/cooling equipment.

Baba Yaga: Saturday, May 7

On Saturday, May 7th, at 4:00 pm in Warner Town Hall. Pillsbury Free Library’s Book Nook Theater group presents “Baba Yaga”. Written by Billie Martiello and directed by Susan Matott with assistance from Chris Martiello, this play by the Book Nook youth theater group is based on several traditional Russian folk tales.

The “Entrance fee” is a donation of a non-perishable food or supply item or cash for the food pantry! There will be an intermission bake sale to benefit the Library, thanks to the Circle of Friends of the Library. Suitable for all ages.

Spring into Warner, Saturday May 14, 2022

Back after a 2 year pause!
Warner’s annual Celebration of the Arts and local foods. Spring into Warner is held mostly outdoors along Warner’s attractive downtown Main Street. There are museums and art exhibits, a Farmer’s Market, dance demonstrations, musicians, ponies, and more! Schedule and map are available Here and at kearsargechamber.org/

To request a space to demonstrate a craft or skill, provide a creative activity, or to sell art or crafts you have made, apply online by May 1 at https://forms.gle/kjy5Mva26Fa2uANj9 or bring a printed form to the library available HERE asap. Spaces limited.

2022 Indoor Flea Market and Craft sale

The 2022 Annual Indoor Warner Flea Market, will be held Saturday, April 16 from 9 am to 2 pm inside Warner Town Hall on Main Street in Warner.

Antiques, household goods, hand-made crafts, art, and foods will be for sale. A snack bar will be selling beverages and snacks, and there will be a raffle. All profits from the raffle, snack bar and table fees will benefit the Pillsbury Free Library.
Fees are $15 per 6 ft table/space to benefit the sponsor, the Pillsbury Free Library. Spaces are allocated in advance based on order received and requested location, as available at the time of PAYMENT.

Public Hearing: acceptance of ARPA Grant

Public hearing will be held by the Trustees of the Pillsbury Free Library at their monthly meeting on Tuesday January 18, at 7 pm, as required by NH RSA for acceptance of unanticipated funds of $5000 or greater. Masks are required in the Library Building.
A $12,598 grant has been awarded to Pillsbury Free Library through an Institute for Museum and Library Services’ (IMLS) “Grants to States” program that is part of the American Rescue Act Plan (ARPA) of 2021 and that is being facilitated by the N.H. State Library.The funds will be used for the purchase and installation of two Poppinpod Om Sit booths, for privacy while having online or phone conversations aloud in the library. This American Rescue Plan Act Grant is administered by the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
